Hey um...could you xerox this for me

Xerox is one of those brands that became the commonly used verb or noun of its function.
I find this so funny how our society has taken on these brand names. Companies are actually struggling to keep their copyright of the name, such as KLEENEX, which are now being used to describe their actual physical product, not necessarily the brand that made it.

Other examples:

zipper: the founding brand of what now is universally referred to as a zipper. Various other brands now make zippers.
escalator: the things in the malls and airports that take you between floors.
